The purposes of this blog are as follows: to research, write, and present information relative primarily to the plight of the Black farmer and family; to provide students with opportunities to engage in advocacy; to discuss ideas of racism, discrimination, and the community of faith; to study public policy and its impact on matters related to injustice; and to integrate theology and social advocacy.
I am a former university professor of marriage and family therapy and social science at three universities in West Virgina, Texas, and California. Developing social justice teams, writing and researching, advocating, and blogging have been parts of my life since 1993. My "day job" these days involves development of policy and programs for strong families for the Chickasaw Nation. My avocation is working on behalf of Black farmers.
